Our Story
ODN Consulting began in the hills of Eastern Kentucky, born from curiosity, a strong work ethic, and a simple mission: make technology work for everyone.
Before it was ODN, it was Dickey Electronics—a one-man operation started by our CEO/President, Aaron Dickey. Long before the start of Dickey Electronics, Aaron was just a kid taking apart phones and computers, somehow always knowing exactly how to put them back together like it was second nature.
After serving in the military and returning back home to Inez, Kentucky, Aaron noticed a troubling pattern. Local businesses were growing more dependent on technology, but their systems weren’t being properly monitored or maintained. His first client, Inez Deposit Bank, gave him a glimpse into what was possible—implementing IT policies, supporting FDIC audits, and training users. But far too often, businesses were being left behind, vulnerable to cybersecurity threats and confusion.
Then came a turning point: a local flower shop was forced to shut down after a cyberattack took everything. Seeing a business close and the workers lose their jobs all because of lacking IT, it showed Aaron how critical that accessible, honest IT support really was—not just for big corporations, but for the small businesses and people behind them.
With that in mind, Aaron founded ODN Consulting. ODN stands for One Day Nerd, a nod to the passion that’s been with him since day one. But ODN has grown far beyond a nickname—it’s become a full-scale, multi-industry consulting firm grounded in one core belief: technology should empower, not overwhelm.
