ODN was started by Aaron Dickey under the name of Dickey Electronics in Inez, KY. After Aaron was fully discharged from the Army, he began freelance tech consulting in an area where tech was still very much an afterthought.
His first client was Inez Deposit Bank where he implemented their IT policies and procedures, worked through FDIC audits, and conducted user training programs.
As Aaron worked with companies and organizations throughout Eastern KY he learned that they were not prioritizing and monitoring their technology, even though they were increasingly becoming dependent on it. In underestimating their dependency on technology, these companies were often open to cybersecurity risks.
This is when Aaron realized that these businesses needed someone who could inform them on the importance of robust and secure IT infrastructure while being honest with them. Aaron knew that the IT and cybersecurity industry had a culture of talking over clients’ heads and pushing expensive, unnecessary contracts. As he built ODN Consulting, Aaron did not want to be a part of that trend.
Over the past 20 years, ODN Consulting has steadily grown from a side hustle to a full-scale IT consulting firm. ODN Consulting is constantly adding to its tech portfolio and success while saving businesses time, money, and sanity.
ODN Consulting has helped businesses avoid disaster and navigate the complex world of IT, cybersecurity, and software development without being taken advantage of. The ODN Consulting team has also made lifelong friends in the process of solving clients’ problems.
